Wheels

The following terms are used in this web shop:

Tread – the surface that actually runs on the rail, the quoted wheel diameter is measured over this.
Flange – the larger part that fits between the rails.
Journal – the protruding part of the axle that fits into the bearing.
Gauge – the width between running rails.

All wheels are steel, mounted on shouldered axles for true running, wide tread pattern, tapers on the tread and flange form, flanges being 2mm deep, for 32 or 45mm narrow gauge. All are non-insulated except for RSA136 which are turned from plastic. All packed in sets of 4 i.e. 2 axles.
